Kurume City, the home of Kurume University, is located in Fukuoka Prefecture in the north-central section of Kyushu Island. Situated at the foot of beautiful Mount Kora, part of the lengthy Mino Range, Kurume City is bound on the north and west by the Chikugo River, the largest river in central Kyushu. Clean and beautiful, Kurume City is large enough to provide all the amenities of city life, and still small enough to retain a friendly small town atmosphere.

JR Kurume Daigaku-mae Station
Built in 2000, the station is a convenient 3-minute walk from the Mii campus.
Kurume(Sasayama) Castle Ruins
Built in 1587, the Castle was owned by Lord Arima until the time of the Meiji Restoration. The stone walls still remain at the site of the main castle.
Kora Shrine
Located on Mt. Kora, the original shrine was built in the 5th century. Rebuilt in 1600, it is designated as a national "Important Cultural Asset".
Ishibashi Cultural Center
This cultural center features an art museum, culture hall, library, Japanese gardens and a swan pond.
Kurume Forest-Azalea Park
Famous for its blooming azaleas in the spring, the park sits near the top of Mt. Kora and is a perfect hiking and sightseeing spot.
Fukuoka Science Museum
This children's museum is located in Kurume Central Park and features a Cosmo theater and Planetarium.
Kurume Centennial Park
Located along the Chikugo River, this park was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Kurume City. It is a favorite place for Kurume citizens to relax and enjoy.
Bairinji Temple
Built in 1621 by the family of Lord Arima, this Rinzai sect Buddhist temple is famous for its 500 blooming plum trees.
